BASIC BOATING Successful completion of this course meets all of Connecticut requirements. Upon completion, the student will receive a 2 certificates. One certificate is sent to the CT DEP with an application and fee in order to get the license. When the student receives the license the student is qualified to operate both conventional vessels and jet-ski type(pwc) boats.
INTRO TO NAVIGATION One of the great things about boating is the satisfaction of planning a trip, enjoying the ride and arriving at your destination safely. Intro To Navigation can help you develop your skills to navigate your vessel with a relaxed feeling of confidence.
KNOW YOUR GPS This class provides an overview of the GPS satellite system along with a basic understanding of how satellite navigation operates and the advantages and disadvantages of relying on electronic navigation devices. We recommend that you take intro to navigation prior to this class if possible.
VESSEL SAFETY CHECK A vessel safety check is a courtesy examination of your boat (vessel) to verify the presence and condition of certain safety equipment required by the State of Connecticut and federal regulations. The vessel examiner is a trained specialist of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. They will also make certain recommendations and discuss safety issues that will make you a safer boater.
